Davenport (33837): mini pebble with glass beads and new glass tile
This homeowner upgraded from quartz to a natural mini pebble finish on a white base, blended with 40% Pebble Radiance glass beads for extra sparkle. The crew drained the pool, diamond-ground the tile line and fittings, chipped out loose plaster and bond-coated the shell before the new finish went on. We also replaced the full waterline with a contrasting glass mosaic tile, added glass tile accent lines on the steps and bench, and installed new return jets and VGB-compliant main drain covers. After a post-plaster wash, our team ran the start-up and balanced the water before handing the pool back. Completed July 2026.
What is different about resurfacing pools around Kissimmee
Vacation-rental pools. Many of our resurfacing jobs in this area are rental homes in Davenport, ChampionsGate and Kissimmee. Owners and property managers send us their booking gaps when they request a quote, and we plan the drain-to-refill window around them.
Groundwater. Central Florida’s water table is high, and groundwater can push up on an empty pool shell. Every job starts by pulling the drain plug and controlling the groundwater before any work on the surface begins.
Fill water. Fresh fill water can carry metals that stain a new finish. Our start-up adds a metal sequestrant (Jack’s Magic Magenta), and we balance the water over three visits in 7–8 days before handing the pool back to your regular pool service.
Pool, spa and tile together. Many pools here have an attached spa and an older waterline tile. Resurfacing is the cheapest time to redo both, because the pool is already empty.
Finishes and what they cost
- Plaster (marcite): smooth, classic white finish, typically 7–10 years in Florida. About $4,500–$7,000.
- Quartz aggregate: harder and more stain-resistant than plaster, with a light sparkle; 12–15 years with good water chemistry. About $6,500–$10,000.
- Mini pebble: small smooth pebbles, textured and very durable; 15–20 years. About $8,000–$13,000.
- Pebble Tec / Pebble Fina: hand-troweled natural river pebble, the premium option; 20+ years. About $10,000–$18,000+.
Prices are for a standard residential pool. See our pool resurfacing cost guide for what moves the price, or our Central Florida pool resurfacing page for more on each finish.
How a resurface works, start to finish
- Drain and control groundwater. We drain the pool, pull the drain plug and keep groundwater under control.
- Prepare the surface. Diamond grinding along the tile line, around niches and at the jets; we sound the shell for hollow spots and chip out loose or delaminating plaster. Badly flaking surfaces are sandblasted.
- Bond coat. Bond Kote primer is rolled over the whole surface so the new finish grips and does not delaminate.
- New finish and safety details. The finish goes on, along with glass marker tiles on the steps and bench (required by Florida code), new return jet heads and anti-vortex main drain covers that meet Florida Building Code and the federal VGB Act.
- Acid wash. The fresh surface is washed to remove calcium streaks and haze.
- Refill and managed start-up. We treat and balance the new water over 7–8 days on three visits, then hand the pool back to your regular pool service.
Tile replacement, spa resurfacing, handrails and deck repair can be added to the same job. Equipment repairs are quoted separately.
